What am I eating ?

Here we start exploring what are the foods you are currently eating. We specifically look at carbohydrates and how excessive intake leads to chronic hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance, the precursor for most lifestyle diseases.

At the end of class 1, you will be empowered with the knowledge and confidence to implement your own low-carbohydrate diet. Once your body starts using fat instead of carbohydrates as the primary energy source, you will be fueled with a constant and unlimited supply of energy and will no longer feel “tired of feeling tired”.

When am I eating?

We explore the benefits of time-restricted eating also called intermittent fasting. This has many health benefits in addition to weight loss and improvements in insulin resistance. You will learn safe and effective ways to implement different protocols over the four-week course.

What could I be eating?

Many foods have specific healing properties. Most of us don’t know what they are or how to unlock their power. Welcome to Nutrition 101! You will learn which “superfoods” you could be eating on a daily basis for optimal living.

Why, where and how am I eating?

We will explore various triggers, events and places that make you want to eat. Excessive, mindless eating has a direct impact on our physical and emotional health. I will help you understand how you can use hunger and fullness cues to promote mindful eating and help you design and strategize a non-food action plan during those vulnerable times when you are drawn to food outside of true hunger.

How can I be more active?

Being active is one of the best medicines in the world. You will learn how to incorporate movement into your daily activates and ideal times to exercise in relation to time restricted eating.

How am I sleeping?

Sleep is the Swiss Army Knife of health! Whatever ailment you face, it’s more than likely that restorative sleep can help fix it. Welcome to Sleep 101! Learn everything about sleep and how you can access your own “restorative sleep”.

How am I going to keep up with this plan?

We will identify potential reasons why you might fall off track and design steps you can take to get back on the optimum health track. Having a plan beforehand is key to helping you succeed!

The course is designed to help people no longer “feel tired of feeling tired”. It will improve your metabolic health by switching you from burning carbs for energy to successfully burning fat for energy. This in turn will significantly improve energy levels since fats are a more reliable, robust, limitless source of energy than carbs. It has also helped people lower inflammation and improve autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Grave’s disease and celiac disease. This program significantly improves insulin resistance and its associated health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol especially high triglycerides, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and PCOS.

What is the cost of the course?

The 4-week course costs $125.

Can I use my flex spending/ health saving account to pay for this course?

Yes. This is a qualified expense for flex spending/ health savings account. Some plans may require a note from your health care provider. Detailed receipts are available upon request.

Do I need to pay for my spouse/ household member to do this course with me?

No. The price is for the whole household. I strongly recommend all eligible household members implement this program in unison so the entire family can achieve optimal health.

Will there be a chance to ask questions?

Yes. You will have a chance to ask questions at the end of each session. In addition, you will be given an opportunity to email questions to Dr B. Paul during the week and have them answered by her at your next class meeting time so that everyone can benefit from the answer.

Are you recommending a specific diet through this course?

This is a low carb, moderate protein, fat to satiety diet plan coupled with time restricted eating or intermittent fasting.

I don’t eat meat. Can I still do the course?

Yes. This course can be implemented by people eating either plant-based or animal-based diets or both.

Is this a weight loss course?

You will lose unhealthy “visceral fat” and inches off your waist. This course is designed to improve your overall metabolic health which includes healthy weight loss.

Who should NOT do this program?

Low-carb diets and time-restricted eating or intermittent fasting are not suitable for certain people. It is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, children, people suffering from eating disorders and people on daily medications without consulting their health care provider first. I strongly recommend you have a clear medication plan from your health care provider prior to enrolling in the course.

I don’t have any health problems. Can I still do the course?

Absolutely Yes! This program is a manual for healthy living and I personally practise it on a daily basis. This is the best health/life insurance policy to have! It will help you increase life span of you and your family.

Where is the course conducted?

This course is offered online using ZOOM. Once you enroll, you will receive the ZOOM link for each session. You will need reasonable Wifi access. You can use any device. I do recommend a desktop or laptop so you can clearly see the images during the class presentation.

Will class sessions be recorded?

Yes. Recordings will be made available for a limited time following each class

How long is each class?

75 minutes. Sometimes less, sometimes a bit more.

Can I do this course if I am on medications?

The “B Well-thee now” course is NOT intended for people who are on multiple chronic medications. If you take medications on a daily basis, you need to discuss the seven (7) step plan with your medical or health care provider. He/she will need to make appropriate medication adjustments on an ongoing basis for you to safely implement the program.

Will you be adjusting my medicines?

Dr Bhakti Paul will not be giving any specific medical advice including medication advice. Always seek the advice of your medical or health care provider with any questions you may have regarding your specific medical condition. You should not make any changes in your health regimen or diet before first consulting your medical or health care provider.
